House District 36 covers parts of the South Side Flats, South Side Slopes, Arlington, Mt.Oliver/St. Clair, Bon Air, Carrick, Overbrook, Mt. Washington, Brookline, and Beechview city neighborhoods. It also covers Mt. Oliver and Brentwood Boroughs. Jessica lives in the Southside Slopes with her cat, Ravi and dog, Teddy.
In 2024, Governor Shapiro signed Rep. Benham's bill to regulate Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs) into law. PBMs are the predatory middlemen between insurance companies and pharmacies. They're secretly raising prescription prices, controlling what medications people can access, and giving unfair deals that help the big corporate chains and put the little community pharmacies out of business. But Rep. Benham fought back, and her bill levels the playing field and helps lower costs.
